Sierra Miwok coiled 3-rod flaring basket. Clockspring start. Foundation possibly willow with weft in bark peeled redbud. Two bands of opposing triangles. Top 2/3 of designs in braken fern rhizomes with other 1/3 in redbud. (Typical of Mariposa baskets.) Rim finished with single strand herringbone overstitched on last coil. Very probable that basket was made by Indian Mary, niece of Kalapine.
