Mortar & Pestle
Pre-Columbian mortar and pestle set. Beautifully carved in grey sandstone. The mortar has a shallow flat depression which does not indicate extensive use. Exotic relief carving features a fanged human face. The pestle has a band of carved cresents around middle and the working ends both have faces. Ritual material.
