Burden Basket

Pomo (Kashaya) open-twined burden basket of conical shape and done in open twining and weft is lattice twining with the addition of an exterior warp element that rums diagonally to the other warps. This is done in hazel sticks. Warp and weft is conifer root. Upper portion consists of 3 strand twining. Condition-good with some breakage on rim. Appears to have been used aboriginally. Dates from turn of century.
