Coiled Basket
Crudely coiled basket from Washo tribe of California Sierras. The names "Jarrell/Chehalis" are on the tag. It is an open coiled basket with oval start and a single rod foundation of willow. The weft is of willow with alternating simple band designs done in redbud. It is of a rough and lumpy construction. Condition; there are a couple of breaks on the rim. It is loosely coiled with some coiling missing. Coiling direction is counter clockwise from above.
