Coiled Basket

Coiled Basket

Apache coiled basket. The coiling direction is counter clockwise when viewed from above. The foundation is peeled willow and the black design patterns are of devil claw. The rim finish is plain coil. The design features a black dot in the centre inside surrounded by a six point star. Outside of this star design there is a step pattern which goes around the perimeter. On the lower part of that step pattern there are repeated symbols which appear to be like dogs, but they have only two legs with a tail and ears. Above that and directly below the rim there are triangles of checker patterns of light and dark alternating. The rim is very dark. Condition is very good. There is a nail hole between the first and second coil.
