Basket
Yokut large coiled basket. The basket is bowl shaped. It has 3-band patterns which are zigzag designs with the center band having zigzag in negative design. The basket has a weft of saw grass root and a bundle foundation of deer grass. The design is in bracken fern foot. The rim finish is a diagonal stitch. The starting knot is a circular configuration with a hole in the center there is an inked number on base of basket; 70-24-6. The basket is considerable age and dates from the turn of the century.
