Basket
Yokut basket. Large coiled bowl shaped basket with flaring sides that rise from a flat bottom. The weft material is saw grass root. The foundation is deer grass. The design is in bracken fern root. The designs are both banded and geometric. There are several diagonal patterns of triangles. The rim finish is a plain coil. There is a round basket start with a hole in the center. There is a large inked in number in the base of the basket: 70-24. The basket has considerable age and dates from the early 1900's.
