basket
Western Mono basket has very squat shape with a flat bottom and curving sides. it is coiled in a counter clockwise direction when viewed from above. The weft is of sedge grass root and it has a bundle foundation of deer grass. The rim finish is a plain coiled finish over a bundle foundation and there are repeated designs in redbud which go around the side of the basket. The basket appears to be old and may have been used. It may have been a mush basket.
