Pomo coiled basket which has a squat globose shape. It is a single rod basket which has been coiled in a clockwise direction when viewed from above. The weft is sedge grass root and there are thin band designs which have been done in dyed bulrush root. There are three band designs in alternating light and dark coils around rim in patterns about an inch and 1/2" length. The basket appears to have considerable age and has very varied in amber tones.
