Large twined cooking basket. This basket appears never to have been used. The shape is globose, a 3/4 sphere. it is done in plain twining throughout with four band designs in redbud with a thin band design at the lower portion and two band designs 1" wide which are on either side of the widest band design widest band 1-1/2" wide. Each band design has a very clear dau pattern. The lowermost simply has a break or a dau. All the other bands have a very clear design deviations. Not all of the dau designs on each band line up, only the center two line up. The weft material is sedge grass root. Usually cooking baskets have conifer root weft. The foundation is willow, the design is redbud.
