Twined Tray

Twined Tray

Pomo serving tray or small gambling tray. There are five thin band designs done in redbud. The basket is done in a lattice twining with the exception of a center start which is done in plain twining. The weft is sedge grass root. The foundation is willow and the designs-bands-are in redbud. The band on the rim is redbud and this is a bit unusual for Pomo Basketry. The basket appears to be very old. The center of the basket on the interior is worn. Turn of the Century.
