Gift Basket

Pomo gift basket made using the coiling technique. it has a three-rod willow foundation and a weft of sedge grass root and small checker designs in dyed bulrush. The direction of the coiling is clockwise when viewed from above. The basket is decorated with Quail feathers. There is a small string handle which has eight Washington clam shell disc beads on it. The basket has flaring sided and the checker designs zigzag up the sides from the base of the basket. The rim is finished in alternating light and dark checks. There is a tape on the bottom inside with 64-COM printed on it.
