Lidded Basket
Aleut basket from Aleutian Island chain made from rye grass with designs in false embroidery using commercial thread. Finely woven plain twined basket with lid. 32 rows of weft to the vertical inch and 25 wefts to the horizontal inch. False embroidered with worsted wool in form of four geometrics, two green two red. Probably more than 50 years old.
