Aleut basket from Aleutian Island chain. It is a twined basket of rye grass with designs in false embroidery. It is a miniature fish carrying basket. Condition is very good. Designs in false embroidery are of worsted wool in form of four geometrics, two green, two of red on the sides of the basket. Above and below these are zigzag bands, also false embroidery, in pink.
