Basket of Thread / Yarn
A basket of thread / yarn which belonged "Ana," an Ixil (Mayan descent) weaver who learned the craft in Chajul, Guatemala.
The light tan, greenish-blue and pink basket contains nine bundles of thread which are secured by / around cardboard or paperfiber pieces. The nine bundles are nine different colors, including yellow, three shades of blue , three shades of green, one shade of purple and one shade of orange.
Basket is associated with a bundle of purple thread wrapped around a long, thin wooden dowel / reed with carved ends to secure the thread.
