Mask

Mask

Margot Mask, Mexico. Small hand painted mask of a woman's face. Black hair covered with red headscarf. Closed eyes, red lips. Circa 1920's - 1930's. Received from donor's grandmother. Labels on back read: "A MARGOT MASK REG. U.S. PAT. OFF." Number on bottom lip is 1142515. A metal wire runs across the width of the upper half of the underside of the mask. Around 75 + years old. Mask may be unfinished, as the underside is not painted over in red surrounding the signature labels, as it seems to be in another creation of this exact mask (see Reference for additional info from ebay).
