Nigerian Men's Dress Hat
Nigerian ceremonial dress hat -- purple with gold embroidery and leather band. The leather band seems to be sewn by hand in attachment to the hat, and the rest of the fabric seems to be sewn together by a sewing machine, aside from the gold embroidery which also appears to have been done by hand. The gold embroidery design looks like it is meant to represent leaves and flowers. The fabric color is purple, but more specifically, it looks like a deep indigo in color. There is a stamped signature on the inside of the hat, on the leather band.
