Hair clip by Klamath River artist Vivien Hailstone. Woven circle with three beaded tassels hanging from its center, with clear, brown, black, white, metal, wooden, and polished abalone shell beads of various shapes and sizes. The back of the basketry circle is covered with leather, and has the artist's signature "Vivien Hailstone" and date "5/96" written, plus a long metal clip mechanism so as to allow it to accessorize one's hair. Small, aged paper tag with "Hair Clip 1996" written on it in cursive, together with the hair clip.
