Age: Early 19th Century
Hand carved teakwood case with large brass scales and buffalo bone beam and bronze weight.
Opium scales like this were used throughout Southeast Asia and China when the substance was widely used in the region. Most notably opium was produced by the Lisu Hill Tribe.
