Chaupat (or Chopat) is an ancient cross and circle game played in India. Parchissi is the US version. The board is usually embroidered cloth in the shape of a cross. The dice are 7 cowry shells, and the pieces (Sogthi) are typically made of wood. Up to 4 players, and each player has 4 pieces. All 7 cowry shells are used in each throw and the number of them facing up or down determines the number of points earned.
16 wooden board pieces (4 teal, 4 pink, 4 navy, 4 yellow), 7 cowry shells, 1 embroidered cloth game board. Good condition, some wear on the material sown around edges. Some shells have residual "stickiness" due to the item being delivered in a box with sticky adhesive inside.

The board is usually an embroidered cloth in the shape of a cross, the cowry shells are used to determine how many spaces a player moves, and the aim of the game is to get all four of your pieces to the home base before the other players. Parcheesi is the western version of Chopat and for both games there are a maximum of four players per game. It is an easy game to learn but it does require skill to play this game of strategy well.
