mask

3/3/2025: The mask possesses a prominent oval configuration. The chin is pointy or triangular, transitioning to a big oval form, which then narrows to a small circular shape at the top. The mask measures 25 inches in length and approximately 8 inches in width. The mask is hand-carved from wood. The texture is alternately smooth and lumpy. The Munsell color chart identifies the mask's wood hue as 10YR 3/6. The mask features a pointed chin and a zigzag pattern encircling the mask's circumference, showcasing the carved faces. The large face exhibits a raised and opened sculpted mouth. The cheekbones exhibit three little diagonal lines carved into them. The eyes are carved open and hooded in shape, and they feature eyebrows that are curved. The elongated forehead supports a little head, characterized by upturned lips and hooded eyes, while the eyebrows have a slanted form. The small head features oversized, arching ears and horns, while the curving shape behind it forms an opening potentially designed for suspending or securely grasping the mask. The mask has a metal wire for suspension. On the reverse side, there is information affixed to adhesive paper—likely a label designated for the item. RMR Long wooden mask. Squinty eyes.
