Wooden Mask
ARTICULATED MASK of male face.
04/09/2025: The mask is made of alder wood (Hahoe-Dong Mask Museum, n.d.). The mouth alternates between opening and closing. The wood is green-hued. A fine, slender thread material knots the maxilla and mandible together. The color is green, as is the dense woven yarn flanking the face. A prominent dot extends from the center of the forehead, positioned just above the nose. Curvilinear engravings adorn the cheeks, forehead, and under the eyes. The nose is prominent and features sculpted nostrils. The rear of the mask has what appears to be Korean characters above the eyes and on the cheek sides of the face. RMR
