bowl
Sumac and devils claw basket tray. 3 rod coiled.
3/17/2026 From appraisal paperwork: "In these fine examples, which are all in good condition, the weave is ruggedly coiled. Bold black designs contrast greatly with light colored background. A three-rod foundation is used, probably of sumac. Sumac forms the light colored weft stitches. The dark designs are coiled using the seed pod barbs of the devil's claw plant, a commonly utilized basketry material of the Havsupai and their desert neighbors."
