Yoruba Diviner's Sash
Beaded, multicolored sash with geometric patterns on a cloth backing. Figures of lizard, turtle, 'duck", and possible human faces.
These sashes are worn by Ifa diviners in ceremonies. The images on the sash are often chosen to represent and connect the diviner (an Iyanifa, the title given to women, or Babalawo, the title given to men) to their ancestors, their spiritual power, and to their deities.
