Part of the Elsie Allen Pomo Basket Collection Sedge grass root is coiled over a single rod foundation. Red design elements are woven in redbud. In this example, the designs form a floral shape in the center. The rim is coiled with light and dark alternating checks. Pomo miniatures are made to demonstrate the weaver's skill and have been well received in today's collector's market. This example retains the form and the designs found in full-sized coiled plaques. This example was made in 1979 or the early 1980's.
