Part of the Elsie Allen Pomo Basket Collection This tiny model illustrates the basic shape and design forms of one style of Pomo burden basket. Made in 1937, plain twining was utilized for the main weave. Sedge grass root forms the weft, with redbud used in the designs. The warp is willow. A rim rod reinforcement is wrapped in alternating light and dark. Four design bands are incorporated.
