Part of the Elsie Allen Pomo Basket Collection This piece was purchased in 1980. Black "V" shapes grace the sides in three places. The weaving is finely done and excellent symmetry is achieved. In this fine example of Pomo miniaturizing, the single foundation rod is coiled, to the left, with a weft of sedge grass root and designs in dyed bulrush. Even with the high magnification of the camera lens, the weave appears very neat.
