This stunning piece is in the classic black on black, reduction fired style for which Maria Martinez of San Ildefonso Pueblo was famous. Her work is the most sought after of any Native American ceramist. This example has convex sides that are decorated with a sunburst of eagle feathers in negative. It is signed Marie and Santana.
