Trinket Basket with Lid
Round trinket basket with lid, diagonal wrap twined up and to the right, warp cedar bark, weft sedge and bear grass, design element material is analin dyed bear grass. Design: three red birds (possibly seagulls) not evenly spaced around basket, horizontal band of purple and gold at bottom. Base is checker woven cedar bark, but the intersections of each bark strand are embraced by additional rows of twined sedge grass extending to the periphery. Rim finish is a band of cedar bark, held on by the thin cedar bark wrap that is braided on rim. Lid is diagonal wrap twine. It has two outlines of circles in red and horizontal bands in purple and gold. Tag tied on basket reads 10.00.
