Pestle

Pestle

This tan-greyish pestle has a peculiar shape. The circumferance of the stone is shaped rather like a rounded triangle, and one side is worn smooth and flat. At either end, the stone has yellow dust / starch that crowns the ends. One end goes from 2.5 in. to only 1.5 in. only three inches along the length of the tool. This could have possibly been a large chip that over wear and exposure, has smoothed out. No picture taken. 3/5/25: On the surface of the pestle, there are brownish-black striations along the circumference. JG
