Kachina Doll

Kachina called Ho-ote or Ahote. Features of this Ho-ote are black case mask, yellow on top of head, pop eyes, horns and snout, stars and moon painted in white on cheecks. Kilt, sash, yellow shoulders for arms and lower legs, green ruff. It carries bow and rattle, blue arm bands and blue moccasins with red designs, wooden feathers and real feathers rest on head. Black yarn tied on legs and right arms. Red yarn is tied to base of horns and snout. Originally the ruff was made of douglas fir, but it wouldn't last long so it was replaced with plastic, then yarn. Also the original moccasins were painted red.
