Shallow groove outlines back. Mouth of storyteller is open. She wears (slip painted) squash blossom necklace. Signature on base reads D. Tryillo.

- Cultural Context: Helen Cordero of cochiti was the first potter to make a contemporary storyteller. Originally they were male storytellers. Helen's first one was modeled after her grandfather, then she began to sell the storytellers to gallerys. The market grew and now many people make the storytellers in different styles.
