Winnowing tray

Large winnowing basket. Plain twined. Warp - willow; weft - sedge grass roots. Design elements - redbud bark and redbud interior (yellow). Two bands (four rows each) lattice twining for reinforcement on the exterior. Four design registers of bands evenly spaced from rim to center. Second register has a rectangular pattern of yellow which is the redbud bark turned over a full twist to expose the yellow side.
