Burden Basket. Diagonal twined. Warp - willow; weft - willow. Design element - bracken fern root and redbud, unpeeled willow. Design pattern - there are 2 bands toward top of basket. Top band design is of bracken fern root and redbud, three stitches wide. Lower band design is of bracken fern root and unpeeled willow, seven stitches wide. At top of basket 3/4" of warp is visible. Rim finish is a single layer of twine made from excess warp, and one rod of willow, both wrapped together by a peeled willow shoot. A small strap of hide is tied to basket for hanging on wall. The rim rod has one crack and a 4 1/2" piece missing.
