"Sally Bag"
"Sally Bag". Plain twined. Warp - Indian hemp bast (Apocynum Cannabinum) and shredded grass stems. Weft - rush or split corn husk (zea mays). Field element - Rush or split corn husk. Desigh element - Worsted wool yarn (red, purple, black and blue) . On front side there are three 8-point star designs, one in center, two at bottom, side by side. At top is only half the design. On back are four design elements w/ negative horizontal bands running through them. At bottom are eleven diamond back patterns in the negative. The rim finish is braided. There is a nail hole near top of bag. Rim is broken in four places, possibly where straps once were and, over time, have worn and broken off.
