Trinket Basket w/ lid
Basket with lid. Plain twined. Warp - ash wood splints; weft - sweet grass. Two rows of thin plain twined ashwood. Above this is plain twined sweet grass. Following is a band of ashwood (also twined). This area is left plain so the lid can easily slip on and off. The rim finish is a band of ashwood 3/4" wide, held on by a spread out diagonal twine of ashwood. The base is criss-crossed plaiting. The lid is plain twined, which radiates out from center. A 4 1/2" braid is sewn onto lid with black thread. The braid is the handle. Rim of lid is a sweet grass bundle. Center of lid is criss-crossed plaiting.
