Mush Bowl
Mush bowl of the Klamath River area. Plain twined, half twist overlay. Warp - peeled hazel shoot or willow; weft - conifer root (pinus). Field element - conifer root. Design element - bear grass (4 x 2 inch stitch of maidenhair fern stems, which is makers signature). On shoulder are two rows of lattice twining, 4 stitches apart, which go through middle of 1" wide zigzag design. At base are10 rows of 2 strands diagonal twining bordered by one row of twill twine. The base center is surrounded by 8 rows of twill twine. There are designs on basket interior also. Mush particles evident in bowl. Makers hair woven into basket.
