Winnowing and Parching Tray
Winnowing Tray. Diagnally twined. Warp - willow. Design element - spring peeled willow (darker willow) and braken fern root. Starting from wide end, first 1/2" inch is warp; next 3/8 inches down is plain twining; 2 1/4 inches down is a 3 stitch wide zig zag band; 3 1/2 inches down is a band of diamonds; 5 inches down is a 3/8 inch wide band of open expanses; 6 inches down is another band of bracken fern root, four stitches wide; 6 inches down is another band of braken fern root, four stitches wide. Top stitch is all black. Bottom three stitches stair step up to the right and meet with top band. 7 inches down is another band of open expanses.
