Tea Cup
Ceramic tea cup; red clay; coiled; polychrome; slip painted; exterior slightly burnished; globular body; no neck; wide mouth and flattened lip rim; handle connected 1/2 inch below the rim. Colors; red orange, dark brown, and cream. A horizontal band of geometric figures from mid-shoulder to the rim; criss cross patterns of three parallel lines, each forming a diamond motiff. Each diamond center has a solid orange/red dot. The edge of the pattern forms triangles which are solid red/orange. Below the band is a scalloped design in dark brown. Distinguishing mark — drop of black paint just below scallop design.
