Technique: Carved, polished. Materials: Steatite (soapstone); hardness <7; greyish black in color showing natural coloration of stone. Design Elements: Sculpture of bear standing on all four legs. The body is dark and the legs are greyish green from the natural color of the stone. His snout is broken. There are indications that the piece was once polished and has faded.
