Bird (Hawk)
Technique: Carved, polished, engraved. Materials: Steatite (soapstone); hardness <7; stone has natural variation in color (greenish gray) and natural cracks in the form of lines in the stone surface. Design Elements: Sculpture of a bird (possibly a hawk - according to donor), sitting with its head turned to one side. It sits on an unpolished base of the same material.
