Basket with Handle
Wicker - plain plaited. Materials: warp - eastern white oak; weft - ash or hickory - stained w/ oil. Handle and rim - eastern white oak. Design elements: none.
Hemishperical "melon" basket with a splint handle. Handle element is a hoop that goes all the way around the basket serving as a foundation on the bottom half and as the handle on the top half. The rim is made of two elements - one split and one round rod. Both are lashed to the basket body with the weft material.
