Necklace

Necklace

Shell/bone- string of bone and shell beads- 16 bone beads in shapes of human figures mixed with shell beads (mostly small disc shaped shell). Figures are seated with knees bent, folded arms, open mouths, heads looking upward. Seated position is similar to mourning figures. Two of the figures have bits of shell or other material inlaid in mouth. Similar inlays missing from eyes. 7/10/2025: Examined by Dr. Slovak. Figures may be ceramic, stone, or shell. If bone they are definitively nonhuman. Shell most likely. -EC
