Pouch
Beaded Pouch. #12 glass beads of red, white, and dark blue are done in triangular alternating patterns forming a rosetta. The beads are sewn to a piece originally of fur, (almost all gone), sewn to the leather bag and edged in old red wool. The wool is serrated and forms a u shape around the rosetta to the top of the leather portion of the bag, where is is joined to a piece of cotton material. At the seam continuously around the bag are a single strand of the navy blue beads spot stitched forming a zig zag pattern. There is another rosetta pattern sewn on the opposite side of the bag but it is not outlined with the red wool. There is a piece of brown cotton bias tape used for a cord to pull the pouch closed. The tag originally on the bag identifies it as Nez Perce. The bag is very worn and has holes from wear on the bottom. On backside of tag "12 50 KSHO".
