Ketoh
Navajo man's Ketoh and pawn tag (see File Folder). The silver piece is cast and has in each corner a silver loop which pierces the leather and is fastened in the back with 4 small leather thongs to hold it in place. There are 5 pieces of turquoise, one in each corner and a larger stone in the middle of the piece. The middle stone has been edged with rope, while the other four are just inset into the silver. It has five 1/2" silver concho buttons on one side. Attached on the inside was a pawn ticket from the Tobe Turpen Trading post. 300 North Third, Gallup New Mexico. Printed in pencil in the upper right hand corner are the letters AALL 10-14-38. 75.00 The tag is numbered in red 6301. In ink the tag has written on it Gato (Gay-to) ALSR 31466.
Encircles wrist to protect wearer while shooting bow and arrow.
