Jar

Navajo Water Jar/Drum. This jar has a rounded bottom and will not stand by itself. It has a raised rim enclosing the entire rim decorated with incised round holes. It is made with a red color clay and has fire marks from the firing process. It has been coated with a shellac both on the outside and inside rim of the jar. Some of the coating has chipped off leaving small areas of lighter pigmented clay showing through. See file folder 90.255
