Vest

Vest

Beaded Vest. Kaiwie Fastwolf has identified the floral designs as being Santee Sioux, whose beading has been influenced by Woodland designs. The beads are sizes 12-13-14. It has been sewn with cotton and nylon thread using a tack down stitch. The front of the vest is white buckskin. There is a white pasty material where apparently someone tried to clean beads. The vest is machine sewn. The backside of the vest is plain with an overlay of buckskin fringe across the shoulder area. The hide used in the back is not as good quality as front. Beads used are contemporary.
