Tule Basket
"This basket has been created with weaving elements that were twisted together or given ply. Most basketry is fashioned with single-strand elements, but this example approaches the status of 'true' textile. It not only uses twisted natural elements which are comparable to yarn, for instance, but also it has flexibility and softness to the structure" (Turnbough & Turnbough) Material: Tule and dyed tule mineral spring water. Probably late 19th century.
