Kachina Doll
This Kachina girl is most often seen during the Niman Ceremony. She represents the snow and is one of rasping of Rugan Kachinas as well. Her presence is a prayer for the coming cold weather that snow may fall and replenish the ground with moisture. It is represented in this carving with a white face and triangular black mouth. It is made from cottonwood and has a V-shaped Mutlicolored chest region with a shell necklace attached to the Kachina.
