Part of the Elsie Allen Pomo Basket Collection. Single rod coiling was employed in this piece that is adorned with black designs reminiscent of the fiddle neck. These dark designs are woven in the dyed roots of the bulrush. Weft elements are sedge grass root and the foundation is probably willow. A pleasant globose shape was achieved. One ethnographer attributed the basket to Elsie Allen.
